He is also the founder of Eternity Bible College and sits on the board of directors of Children's Hunger Fund and World Impact. Francis spends much of his time speaking to students around the country, committed to teaching directly from the Bible. His passion is to see the church display a much deeper love for Jesus. Francis lives in California with his wife, Lisa, and their four children.

Author Biography

Francis Chan - Francis Chan, born in 1967, is an American preacher. He is the pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Simi Valley, CA, a church he and his wife started in 1994. He is also the Founder and Chancellor of Eternity Bible College and author of the best-selling book, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God. Francis Chan is a nationally recognised pastor, regularly speaking at major events and conferences nationally and internationally.

Chan's parents both died by the time he was 12 years old. As a high-school and then junior-college student, Chan was active in Christian youth groups which helped develop his faith in Christianity and his interest in ministry. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Master's College and a Master of Divinity degree from Master's Seminary.

Chan and his wife founded Cornerstone in 1994 with only 30 people. Within two months, the church had grown to 100 people. Today, Cornerstone is one of the largest churches in Ventura County, California.

After a three-month leave from Cornerstone, Francis said he felt convicted to sacrifice more for God. Chan gives away about 90 percent of his income ... Chan doesn't take a salary from his church, and he has donated all of his book royalties, which total about $500,000 to various charities. Much of it goes to organizations which rescue sex slaves in foreign countries.

Francis lives in California with his wife, Lisa, and their four children.

I honestly couldn't put Crazy Love down! Our highschool youth group did this as a small group format and asked us all to pick this book up and read it as a group. At first I was not into the idea, but after we started going through the chapters it was an amazing tool in our study group. Francis Chan has a way of writing that really captures everyones attention.

I loved how in this book it talks about the real issues and changing the things in our lives that need to be changed. So cool!
It really changed our youth group and took us to new depths!

Our church brought this new book Crazy Love into my wife and I's attention.
We at first didn't know if this was a book for " older " people or just for the younger generation, but our pastor encouraged us to look through it and that it was really powerful. He was right! My wife and I went through this book together and it really made us think differently about our faith!

Now we are suggesting this book to our " older " friends too, we wish we had this book when we were younger to open our eyes about faith and love.

This book is amazing. At times in our lives we need a book just like Crazy Love to jolt us out of our "luke warmness," to make us step out of our comfort zones, and to realize that Jesus is the most important "ONE."  And how much we need Him and His Word and His fellowship and family (the church). Mr. Chan is such a wonderful living example of "Crazy Love" I can't wait to see what he will do next...  God sped !!!

Regardless of where you are in your Christian walk, this is a must read for every believer of Jesus Christ. After reading this book God literally revived my heart. I now experience a love for God and His people. The feeling for lack of a better word is so similar to how I felt when I first got saved. It has brought back my thirst for the Word of God, and a deeper longing for communion with God and his people.
