The Crabby Cat Caper

Dee Dee Winter's cat, Mister Whiskers, is one crabby kitty--sometimes worse than crabby. Sometimes he takes big risks, like running away!

But when Mister Whiskers disappears just before the school carnival, it looks like he's gone for good. Dee Dee and the Cul-de-sac Kids search Blossom Hill Lane, hoping to find the crabby cat.

Then Mister Whiskers is spotted at the carnival. Can Dee Dee's cul-de-sac friends help her catch her cranky kitty?

Author Information: Beverly Lewis was born in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. She fondly recalls her growing-up years, and due to a keen interest in her mother's Plain family heritage, many of Beverly's books are set in Lancaster County.

A former schoolteacher, Bev is a member of The National League of American Pen Womenâ€"the Pikes Peak Branchâ€"and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Her bestselling books are among the C.S. Lewis Noteworthy List Books, and both The Postcard and Annika's Secret Wish have received Silver Angel Awards. Bev and her husband have three children and make their home in Colorado.

Beverly started playing the piano at age 5, and began writing short stories and poetry when she was 9 years old. Much of her writing focuses on the Anabaptist heritage and the Old Order Amish. Her maternal grandmother, Ada Ranck Buchwalter, was born into an Old Order Mennonite Church, which interested Mrs. Lewis in her own "plain heritage." Her father was a pastor in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she was born and grew up. She was raised and continues to be part of the Assemblies of God community.

She went to Evangel University, and received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2003. She is also a member of the National League of American Pen Women.
