Description: Mark BattersonPrimalIn Primal, Mark Batterson asks, “What would your Christianity look like if it were stripped down to the simplest faith possible? You would have more, not less. You would have the beginning of a new reformation—in your generation, your church, your own soul. You would have primal Christianity.” Christians have a tendency to complicate Christianity. Jesus simplified it: Love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Batterson reminds readers that if they are to live out the essence of Christianity, they must rediscover what it means to be great at this Great Commandment. Batterson explores the foundational elements of “Great Commandment Christianity”: compassion, wonder, curiosity, and power. Primal speaks directly to Batterson’s most loyal audience: twenty-something and thirty-something Christians who are passionate about their faith but suspicious of many churches. This story-oriented, highly original book spins the spiritual kaleidoscope for these readers, articulating fresh ways to embrace the elements of faith. As Batterson writes, “Reformations are not born out of new discoveries. They are born out of rediscovering something old, something ancient. Something primal.” |

Customer Reviews Average Customer Rating: ![]() Reviewer: Anonymous from Loved the book. However, I ordered 3 copies to be autographed by the author. Only two were autographed. Reviewer: Heath from Denton, NC Mark Batterson takes you on a journey to rediscover the "Primal" roots of Christianity. Using personal stories, history, and math and science references he challenges the reader to join him on this amazing journey. He writes from the perspective of a pastor, but also of someone who is always looking to learn and stretch. I highly recommend you make Primal the first book you read in 2010. Show all 2 reviews |
