Allright October 21, 2008 Reviewer: Matt from Indiana
Not my favorite Pillar CD, but they still put out some great tunes on this CD they really rocked your face live.
Great CD! November 7, 2006 Reviewer: Patrick from Evansville, IN
I really enjoyed this album. There is lots of good hard rock on here. "Everything," "Awake," "Tragedy," "Crossfire," and "Resolution" are all excellent hard rock songs that any Pillar fan will enjoy. Pillars sound has evolved a bit since "Where Do We Go From Here," and its good to see them changing and experimenting. The title sounds like a mixture of hard rock and music you would find in a Western film, which makes sense because the title of the album, "The Reckoning," was inspired by a line from Doc Holiday in the fantastic film Tombstone. Also, there are some good rock ballads on here... "Angel in Disguise" and "Chasing Shadows at Midnight" are two great examples.
Also, the live DVD on the Special Edition makes for a great addition to the CD. It has numerous songs from a live concert at Cornerstone.... including several songs off of this album and a few Pillar favorites. Check this album out! It is well worth a listen!
A MUST BUY!!!!!! October 24, 2006 Reviewer: Anonymous from Virginia Beach, VA
This album is awesome! You have to buy this album if you like bands such as Skillet, Kutless, Disciple, and similar artists! Every song was AMAZINGLY GOOD! The guitar riffs are powerful! The DVD is full of interesting facts about the music! You will NOT regret this purchase!
The Reckoning - Special Edition 5 STARS October 20, 2006 Reviewer: Anonymous from San Jose
I was extremely suprised by this release of pillar. I bought the "where do we go from here" limited edition and I was very dissapointed. I but "the reckoning" Special Edition and i was so suprised on how amazing it was. Definitely get the special edition it is worth the extra money no doubt. I recommend this cd to anyone who likes disciple, kids in the way, and skillet.
Worth getting the special edition of The Reckoning October 13, 2006 Reviewer: Anonymous from
I got this album a day before it was actually released since I pre-ordered it and love it. The album is the hardest album that Pillar was ever put out. There are a few soft songs on the album like Last Goodbye, Chasing Shadows at Midnight, and Sometimes. The hard tracks are Tradegy and Crossfire which fans of Underoath or Emery wil love the screams and yells that Rob does on the album. The DVD features a live concert from Cornerstone 2006. There are also track commentary on this DVD which the band goes into detail about the each song on the album. Each member of the band gives a one-on-one lesson on how to play some of the songs on the new record!
Good CD August 23, 2006 Reviewer: Anonymous from
