Author Biography
Philip Yancey serves as editor-at-large for Christianity Today magazine. He has written twelve Gold Medallion Award-winning books and won two ECPA Book of the Year awards for What's So Amazing About Grace? and The Jesus I Never Knew. Four of his books have sold over one million copies. He lives with his wife in Colorado.
This book is a wonderful set of articles-turned-devotionals. Some of the topics Yancey covers are inspired by news events or perhaps something as simple as a butterfly. Be prepared to follow one man's pondering thoughts. Yancey draws from a huge well of knowledge that comes from being as well-read as he is, and his writing style reflects a cohesive ability to see the "big picture" in new and interesting ways.
Yancey does an excellent job of presenting everyday grace occurances. The imagery in this book will follow you through out your journey of faith and make you more susceptible to extending grace to others.
Yancey does a beautiful job of reminding us what Grace really is and why in the world any of us gets a chance at having some. He breaks up the stereotypical prejudices that require our withholding of grace to others, and convicts readers to transformation.
What is so amazing about Grace, anyway?? Read this book and you may begin to stitch together a minute understanding of such an overwhelming gift from God.
