This book is great for the non-believer researching Christianity as well as the believer looking for answers for themselves and to share with others. I recently got engaged, and told my fiance she should read it because she was having questions about her faith that I could answer, but really not as well as Lewis. He has a keen insight into spiritual things, and his heart for God certainly comes through in this book. It explodes with common sense and logic, as his books often do, but not too harshly. I have read a few of his books and I am about to delve into another, and he is pure genius. Mere Chrisitianity is a book that really helps you establish or redefine your beliefs.
