I heard Bart perform Just a Closer Walk at a Gaither Praise Gathering, and rushed out to get a CD for me and one for my 19-year-old grandson. Hymned quickly became a favorite for both of us. Bart remains true to the devotional nature of the music while picking up a joyful beat. Exciting praise music for any generation.

This CD is awesome. It added a twist to the traditional hymns. The music really touched me. Especially "Sweet By and By."

This is yet another one of the many "reworked Hymns" CDs to be released this year. However, if your head is not spinning from the smattering of hymns this year, I would highly recommend picking this up. If you like hymns at all, definetely get this one. Bart Millard is an amazing artist, as seen in his work with MercyMe, and this album is just another one of the MercyMe fan's must-haves. The sounds borders on folk-country, but is all worship and all hymn at the same time. Millard bridges the gap between the old school and the new on this album.

mercyme has a lot to own up to, and when the lead singer makes an album, you sometimes feel like it should live up to the band's name as well. this cd has the "southern bluegrass gospel" feel, and for me, it just didn't work out. but if you like that type of thing, then this cd is for you.

I purchased this CD several weeks ago and I have almost worn it out. I listen to it every day and every where I go.
I was raised by my "Southern Baptist" grandmother AKA: "mama". She too is on "That Beautiful Shore."
I wish I could better express my true feelings and the emotions that this CD invokes within me. As I listen to it, every time, I visualize my "mama" singing (off key) the same songs and I cannot stop smiling.

I grew up with these hymns in church and rejoy what Bart has done. The music is not what I expected, becuase I was probably expecting a more MercyMe sound, but Bart did a fabulous job. I realy enjoy the tracks.

This is an awesome cd! Bart Millard is one of the best vocalists I have ever heard. Bart has put his own unique sound to these hymns and has created a beautiful cd full of the hymnals that most of us grew up with. Not only does Bart have a wonderful voice, he is the epitome of what a christian man should be and it shows in all the things he does. I fell truely blessed that God has given him the musical talents that are such an inspiration to me as well as others.
