Product Description

They've set records at radio and retail. They've won numerous awards including the 2005 GMA Music Award for Group of the Year. Their debut album has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. So far, you could say that Casting Crowns has gotten their career off to a perfect start.

Mark Hall, lead singer and founder of the group, would agree, but for an entirely different set of reasons. "I wish I could pull together a big book of all of the emails and letters we have received. We have people contacting us from around the world telling us story after story of how this record has impacted their lives."comments Mark. "I still cannot believe what God is doing through this ministry."

Ministry is what defines Casting Crowns. All of the members are still active in local church ministry in spite of the over 200 concert appearances they have made over the last 2 years. Mark Hall, in fact, is still employed as the youth pastor at his home church, although he has had to hire some additional help due to his hectic schedule

"It is the ministry that creates the songs, not the other way around,"states Hall. And the same is true for Lifesong, the much-anticipated sophomore release from Casting Crowns. >From the anthemic title cut to the moving ballad, "Praise You In the Storm"this new album is once again an unapologetic collection of messages targeting the church.

"All of life is worship. If we're not careful we will 'praise worship' and 'worship praise.' We begin to look at worship as an experience when, in reality, our corporate worship is simply the culmination of the life we should be living all week long. The songs on this new album try to look at what a life of worship looks like. Whether we are called to 'Praise God in this Storm' or simply 'Love Them Like Jesus' we must begin to see all of life as about Him and not us. That is what we want to say to the church this time around."

Great inspiring album February 13, 2009
                       Reviewer: Mary from

I got this CD along with their Alter and the Door. Both are very inspiring. This one has Praise you in the storm, which I heard and immediatly fell in love with when I heard it the first time. After hearing other songs, Set Me Free, While You Were Sleeping, Stained Glass Masquerade, and Does Anybody Hear Her, I decided I must get this album. The lyrics are just as powerful as the songs. They are very inspiring and good to listen to when one is having a hard time in their life.

The song Set Me Free on this CD is simply awesome!! We are lost, and in the darkest parts, but God comes and Sets Us Free from all our pain and sorrow!! Our drama team did a skit on the song and that was just amazing! Awesome job Casting Crowns!!

No Sophmore Slump August 29, 2008
Reviewer: James from Midwest City, OK

This album is just as good if not better than their first. I dint think they could top their first album but they did. This is another collection of great songwriting with very powerful lyrics. Standout tracks are "Lifesong" "Praise You in the Storm" and "Does Anybody Hear Her." For Everyone who loves great music. The songs really turn your eyes to God and your walk with him.

                       Reviewer: Anonymous from Illinois

My sister got me completely hooked on Casting Crowns some time ago - but I only recently heard the music on this CD (except the title track). "Praise You In The Storm" is one of the most powerful songs that I have heard in a very long time. It is a reminder that there is only One who never changes - One who is constant! How awesome to know that He never changes - no matter where we are in life!

perfect! January 7, 2006
                       Reviewer: Catherine from

I was looking forward to buying and listening to Casting Crowns’ new album the second I heard “Voice of Truth” on their debut album. I feel that song defined them, and if they continued to write songs like that, their road to success would be very smooth. I am not surprised that “Lifesong” is one of my favorite CDs in my collection. The lyrics are very heartfelt and songs like “Does Anybody Hear Her”, “Stained Glass Masquerade”, and “While You Were Sleeping” challenge the stance of Christians living in America today who take advantage of, and sometimes hide their faith. This is one of the many reasons why Casting Crowns is popular - they are unafraid to insert their views on some social issues in their songs. Mark Hall admits that “Love Them Like Jesus” is a sequel to a song from their first album. “Here I Go Again” brought up many personal questions and the current song answers them, helping out any person or persons who are struggling with a loved one’s death and letting them know that they don’t need the answers to every question – that’s God’s job. Hall’s young son performs an emotional solo in one of the worship style songs, “In Me.” Other songs of the same worship approach include “Set Me Free” and “Father, Spirit, Jesus”. This is the perfect CD for a new or old Casting Crowns fan alike, as well as anyone who enjoys the challenging lyrics posed in “If We Are the Body.” Lyrically and instrumentally, this is a very strong album and provides proof of their deserved nominations for the American Music Awards and the Grammys.

Pretty good CD January 5, 2006
                       Reviewer: Daniel from NJ

Praise You In the Storm is my favorite track. The Lifesong Reprise is also great, but I found the original Lifesong track a little monotonous and a bit gratuitously loud after awhile. Not their best CD out, but not bad.

Amazing Band December 14, 2005
                       Reviewer: meg from VA

This is one of my favorite bands, and the songs on this CD will really speak to your heart! :) Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Still Strong December 11, 2005
                       Reviewer: Gordie from Ontario, Canada

Casting Crowns is still going strong with their new album "Lifesong". Songs like "Praise You In This Storm" talk about situations like Job was faced up with, having his whole world turned upside down [in a negative way], and yet still be able to praise God and not commiting a sin. "While You Were Sleeping" is almost a Christmas song in the essence in which it speaks about Jesus being born. However it laments about how all the people of Bethlehem missed the birth of the glorious Christ child, and how they missed it while they were sleeping. It poses the question, what will we miss while we remain asleep in our spiritual lives. "Stained Glass Masquerade" explains the harsh truths of how our churchs are faced with hypocrisy in the sense that we go to church but its all just a gig so that others will view us as being "good people" but in reality we are just like the others with struggles and hardships. If you enjoyed the previous Casting Crowns albums, I strongly suggest buying this album.

Better than the first one... November 29, 2005
                       Reviewer: Anonymous from

In this eleven song CD, Casting Crowns has rivaled, and at some points even topped their debut CD. The 3rd song "Does Anybody Hear Her" holds somewhat reminiscent topic. It is a song calling for acceptance in the church. "Stained Glass Masquerade" talks about how we tend to hide our true selves because we want to be like others (who are themselves hiding.) The question about how to share the gospel was set forth in "Here I Go Again" on their debut CD. On Lifesong, this question is answered by the song, "Love Them Like Jesus." "Set Me Free" is a powerful depiction of the story of the demoniac in Luke 8:26-39. In "While You Were Sleeping," a song based on "Oh Little Town of Bethlehem," they put forth a powerful message about making room for Jesus. There are 6 other wonderful songs on this CD.

The Best CD Ever!! November 8, 2005
                       Reviewer: Tenaya from Jacksonville, FL

I loved their first CD and couldnt wait for this one to come out. Once I got it, I sat up for 3 hours singing all of the songs over and over. I love every song on this album. Its the best!

You gotta get this CD!! November 4, 2005

If you thought their first CD was good, the second is a must have. Casting Crowns really knows how to put the condition of the church into music. Its incredible!

Another Gem by the Crowns November 2, 2005
                       Reviewer: Jeff from Pennsylvania

Casting Crowns does it again. Lifesong contains songs that will touch the heart, and create the desire and passion for worship. Awesome lyrics that speak the truth, and superb musical style that you cant help but sing along with. Hard to believe, but I think it is better that their first!! This is a must have.

Significant Lyrics & Moving Melodies October 9, 2005
Reviewer: Mike from St. Louis, Missouri

Got the new album today and was very pleased to see the music was in the same genre of the group's earlier works. The lyrics are powerful and speak to my heart in a way that few others can. The music is not candy coated or brash and tells a million different stories.

Inspire September 30, 2005
                       Reviewer: Anonymous from Texas

Casting Crowns is a great group. An their latest cd 'LifeSong' is an example of it, with the up beat encourageing music it's a true testement to God's love and power! A must for any Christian music collection.

"FAN"TASTIC CD!!!!!!! September 20, 2005
                       Reviewer: Anonymous from Alabama

I have played this over and over since I got it. This is just as good as the first one. Mark Hall is such a talented artist and it is so refreshing to see some one use their God given talent in such a powerful and direct way.

Casting Crowns Does It Again September 19, 2005
                       Reviewer: Michael from Calvin College

Casting Crowns is an amazing group that has pretty much redefined worship music and Christian music in general. Their straight-forward, powerful lyrics are always right on and their sound is incredible, inspiring awe and worship not only with the words, but also with the sound. Lifesong is no exception, as Casting Crowns pulls off yet another awe-inspiring album. Rarely do I find a CD that can take me from my busy world and plunge me into a heart of worship as quick as this one does. Casting Crowns also has a somewhat harder sound, but don't let that deter you, since it works brilliantly well here. Needless to say, CC will be around for awhile.

Great Band September 16, 2005
                       Reviewer: cole from Kentucky

I love the way you make your music in a way tht we enjoy and that God can be pleased with. They also make it in a way that we can under stand it. I am very pleased with the new album; THANK YOU FOR READING THIS.

Another solid release September 12, 2005
                       Reviewer: Ron from Wilson, NC

Casting Crowns is quickly becoming one of the premiere bands in christian music. I believe that the message in this set is a little deeper than their debut and the lyrics jump right out at you and grab you by the collar and force you to look at yourself a little deeper. If you liked the first one, this one won't disappoint but don't look for too much in the way of "American Dream". They chose the softer side this time around.

Another great CD!!! September 12, 2005
                       Reviewer: Bonnie from Springfield

This CD by Casting Crowns is becoming one of my favorite CDs of all time. It is awesome!!! The songs really talk to the church and make you think about how we really need to change some things in our lives.

This ones even better than the first September 10, 2005
Reviewer: Rayvon from Plant City Florida

Casting Crowns first album was one of the most listened to CDs I have ever owned. I have owned Lifesong (the new CD) 3 days and have listened to it about eight times. I like every song on the CD but I really like Praise You In This Storm , Love them like Jesus, Lifesong and Stained Glass Masquerade ok truth is its very hard to pick a favorite song. And Now My Lifesong Sings has hints of a Amazing Grace and I really love it. Third day has always been my favorite group, now I have two favorites.

Lifesong CD September 9, 2005

Praise you in the Storm and Stained Glass Masquerade are BRILLIANT!!!!!!! Buy this CD you will be BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! September 8, 2005
                       Reviewer: Stephanie from Springfield IL

I am a fairly new listner to Christian music and heard that Casting Crowns were coming to my town so I thought it would be nice to listen to them before and get familiar with their music. I was worried I wouldn't like them...NO WORRIES! What an amazing album. From soft ballads to soft rock, the music, ministry & messages are wonderful.

Heart and Soul! September 8, 2005
Reviewer: Frank Lam from Jersey City, NJ

Got this CD during a local concert by Casting Crowns. Song #2 (Praise You In This Storm) has some much heart and emotion!!! I've been listening to it for 1+ week straight. This CD is definitely more emotional (from the performer's standpoint) than Casting Crowns' previous CD. You can just feel Mark Hall's yearning in this. Highly recommended

I did not think they could get any better September 7, 2005
                       Reviewer: from

This album blows my mind. Great for worship time and reflection. Absolutely powerful lyrics. Moving musical composition. could listen over and over. (almost did on 12 hour long road trip!)

WOW September 7, 2005
Reviewer: Calvin from Los Angeles, CA

I bought Casting Crowns first CD and really enjoyed it, its like listening to the WORD through music. I decided to buy this album also because a remixed version of "Praise you in this storm" on the radio; it included things that the survivors of Hurricane Katrina said...about losing everything, seeing the devastation, and the song reminds us, even when all is lost, we should still pray and praise Him. See if you can find the song...I heard it on the local Christian radio station, its simply, wow.

A bit generic... September 7, 2005
                       Reviewer: Elizabeth from Dallas, TX

I love Casting Crowns. They are one of the only Christian bands I actually care enough about to keep track of upcoming events and milestones. And I LOVED thier first CD. It was phenomenal. I know all of thier songs by heart and each one has a special meaning to me. I figured Lifesong would be GREAT, which is why I pre-ordered it... But to be perfectly honest, I was disappointed. In the first CD, every song sounded a little different and had a very different meaning. Each track was a self-contained story. In this CD, I feel that they all share pretty much the same style over and over again. All the songs have a good message, and I do enjoy listening to them, but I'm not really MOVED by them. Not the way I was by the songs on thier first album. Most of these songs are slow and methodical. And many of the songs are mostly taken up by choruses... just one phrase being repeated over and over and over again. It starts to feel like overkill by the end of some songs, particularly "Stained Glass Masquerade." I just feel like this album lacked the freshness and originality that made the first one great.

Another good CD from Casting Crowns September 5, 2005
                       Reviewer: Anonymous from New Jersey

Casting Crowns continues to challenge us with this collection of songs. Softer in tone than their debut album, these songs nevertheless ring true. Mark Hall's lyrics always manage to hit home with me.

Casting Crowns - Just OK September 4, 2005
                       Reviewer: Anonymous from

Ok, I am not a big casting crowns fan, but I did really like some songs off their first album. This new one Lifesong has it's great songs, its ok songs and some I just do not care for. First the great songs: Title Track Lifesong is a great great song. Nice lyrics and melody. Set Me Free is a song that makes you want to scream out to Jesus and say "Set Me Free". Great great song, in my opion the best on the cd. Now the ok songs. Praise You in the Storm While you Were Sleeping Stained Glass Masquerade All three songs have their moments, but seem to lack that over punch that takes a song over the top. The ones I do not care for: Does Anybody Hear Her Love Them Like Jesus Father, Spirit, Jesus In Me Prodigal And now My Lifesong Sings. Just a lot of songs on the album that take you nowhere. Thanks Pastor Pajo

Amazing Praise Rock September 1, 2005
                       Reviewer: Laura from California

I loved the original cd, and was a bit hesiant to pre-order the new one, knowing about many christian bands that will go unnammed that have let us down, hitting mainstream, and ditching the 'christian' thing, because.. "Its not cool"... I love the look on my friends face after i tell them that theve been listening to christian music in the car, and they love it.. and It really is a good cd.. it shows JESUS LOVES EVERYONE.. SHOW THAT LOVE TO OTHERS.. especially the song, "love them like jesus" GREAT CD!! BUY IT NOW

True Christian Music August 31, 2005

Some artists write about Christ. Mark Hall writes FOR Christ. If you like Casting Crowns' first album, you'll LOVE this one. It picks up where their debut leaves off, speaking directly to the church. From the comfort found in "Praise You In This Storm" and the encouragement of "Stained Glass Masquerade" (co-written by Nicole Nordeman) to the wake-up calls of "Does Anybody Hear Her" and "While You Were Sleeping", I challenge you to listen to this album and NOT be touched. Very rarely do I find an album that I thoroughly enjoy from start to finish, but Lifesong is an exception. Mark Hall is a truly gifted writer and singer, and this is an album with depth!

Let My LifeSong "Review" Sing To You! August 29, 2005

Simply Stated, It's An Incredible CD! The autographed cover gives the CD a personal touch and is a great way to feel personally connected to Casting Crowns. The song LifeSong speaks to me unlike any other song in Christian Music! I know in my heart that when people hear this song, they will feel so incredibly connected and close to Christ, in a loving way, that it will lead them towards Ministry. I know I do...especially since I am packing to leave to help those in need in the New Orleans (Nawlins) area. And yes, the CD is coming with me :) Helping People Is My LifeSong!

Really Good one of the top 5 for this years CD collection August 29, 2005

Another slap in the face for the church of today, when we'll we wake up and start to take notice of what Mark Hall is singing about and stop listening to the lyrics of the songs and start doing what the lyrics are telling us to do. Not just what the lyrics are telling us to do but what the actual Word of God tells us to do, lets start loving them Like Jesus. Anoter Great CD by Mark Hall, Keep it up,

Though this CD isn't released yet, I was lucky enough to hear some of the new songs at a Casting Crowns concert recently and I was not disappointed! "Lifesong" and "Praise You in the Storm" were the ones we heard and they were awesome. This looks to be a great CD!

I was so excited to hear about Casting Crowns new CD coming out this month! If this one is as good as the first album, then I can't wait. I saw them at Spirit Song at Kings Island last month and they were awesome. I love how they unabashedly put the truth out there for everyone to hear and either to accept or reject, plain and simple. Ever since the release of their self-titled debut, the powerful music this group has produced has been helping to change lives, including mine. God bless them and their ministry.

Should be another powerful CD from Casting Crowns July 27, 2005

This is got to be good if it's anywhere close to how good their first CD, Casting Crowns. Casting Crowns provides different styles of Christian music and with their 4 star review from me, I believe that it will be another great CD from Casting Crowns.
