A Must Have! ( ) by Jayne in Wisconsin
Nichole's second CD is a must have. The songs are excellent. "This Mystery" is the title track and opens the CD with its catchy rhythmn. "Tremble" is an awesome song, focusing on the greatness of God.
"Fool For You" is a song of faith and the willingness to seem like a fool to the world if that's what it takes.
"Help Me Believe" tells of Nichole's simple belief as a child; how she mixed it with doubts in the real world, and how she longs to believe fully in Christ without rational skepticism. "Small Enough" is a duet with Fernando Ortega, and it's a prayer before the greatness of God in humility, asking God to be small enough to hear her. "Lookin' At You" is her upbeat song, full of spunk.
"As" is a cover of the Stevie Wonder song. "Home" is a beautiful song of being content in Christ, full of hope and joy. "Please Come" is an invitation for whoever to come to Christ. "Every Season" is a classic Nichole Nordeman song; it's lovely in every way, and the CD would be worth having just for this song. "Why" is recorded live, and is a story of the crucifixion of Christ.

I have loved Nichole Nordeman ever since her first CD, and saw her in concert when she opened for a Steven Curtis Chapman tour. She never disappoints me when she comes out with a new CD, and this one is definitely no exception. The bonus tracks are also worth the little bit extra in price.... well worth the money!

This album is really great! All the songs are mid- to up-tempo, with only 3, including the bonus tracks, being slow ballads. My favorites are "Brave," "Real to Me," "Hold On," and "Live."
The stories behind the songs and the four additional acoustic tracks are worth the extra money. I am a sucker for knowing the inspiration behind the songs. I like the acoustic version of "Brave" better than the studio single because it's just Nichole and the piano.
The only put-down I have for this album is the cover of Bob Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody." It sounds like Nichole is imitating Bob Dylan and that is unfortunate because I love her smooth voice the way it is.

Definitely get the special edition! It is so worth the money to get the extra songs and Nichole's thoughts! Nichole is one of the best songwriters I've ever heard. Her lyrics challenge me - she is very gifted.

I just used this accompaniment on Sunday and the congregation loved the beautiful music and the amazing lyrics that Nichole Nordeman puts together. I was wary about trying a new type of accompaniment as I had never tried this brand before but I was completely satisfied with it!

Brave is my first ever Nichole Nordeman album and it is great!!!!! Her thoughtful lyrics are enhanced by her great music. The simple accoustic tracks at the end of the album are very well done as well. I would definately pay the extra money and get this special edition!!!!!
