I could not but this book down. I found out about it on the back of teen Bible I had bought and decided to check it out. The bad thing was as soon as I had read the first paragraph I could not make myself put the book down. Ted Dekker's amazing storytelling techniques takes you to two whole new worlds and craftly is re-telling the stories of the Old Testament in a whole new way to help others understand God's grace. One thing I can say is I can't wait for Red!

This book is addicting. It's fast-paced and extremely hard to put down. Buy all three at once, because once you finish "Black", it's torture having to wait for the next one!
A great beginning ( ) by Kristina in MN
Ted Dekker begins the story with a highly emotional flashback. Ivena, a motherly character, is reading Jan Jovic's book called "Dance of the Dead". The story is about her encounter with a man who seemed determined to make both her and her sisters-in-Christ renounce their faith. The story of her daughter and her priest is enough to make anyone question the sincerity of their faith. I surely did.
The story continues with Jan Jovic and Ivena. Jovic meets a woman and falls in love with her. As we see him continually forgive her as she fails him over and over again, we see God's love for us.
"When Heaven Weeps" is almost sure to strengthen your faith and look at God in a more healthy light. Dekker brings about a new outlook on faith and on God.
OUTSTANDING READ () by Jaime in Oklahoma
I must say that out of the martyr's song series this was by far the best. The writing just seemed to flow straight from the beginning. I loved the intensity of the story, when I first picked it up I thought I would just read a couple of chapters, but once I started I was halfway into the book before I knew it. I couldn't put it down. I finished it in roughly 2 days only reading it at bedtime. I encourage anyone who enjoys a suspensful cliffhanger to read all three of the books. Just don't make the mistake I did, read them in order starting with When Heaven Weeps. You are guaranteed to get a blessing out of each and every book. I just hope there will be more to the story.
The Ultimate Love Story () by Jaime in Oklahoma
This book was outstanding. I found myself looking inward at my own life and reevaluating myself. The ultimate love that this little child possessed at such a young age is awe inspiring, to actually stand up for your faith when you are looking in the face of evil is wonderful yet unfathenable. I know we are expected to do that but it makes you stop and think of waht you would do in that same situation, but that is just the beginning. The story then takes a turn into present day and enters her mothers life and the life of a soldier who was there. I enjoyed the read, however it did take some time to read. I found myself crying and moved with such emotion. I hope it speaks to you as it spoke to me. I really enjoyed the suspence and the twist the storyline took.

I absolutely loved this Ted Dekker novel. I find Dekker to be a fascinating author, with always a new plot and more ideas for twists than any other writer I've read.
Three is a very fast-paced novel with a tight story line and many interesting characters and events. It's not gory, but it does contain some *slightly* disturbing content as far as violence goes. But this is not to discourage anyone, I loved the book.
The major and minor twists and plot changes throughout the book were not anticipated at all and made for a great reading, in just a few days! And all through the twists the book remains true to word - no inconsistencies.
I'm waiting to forget a little of the thrilling parts before I read it again...and again...and again.
Mind-boggling () by Kayla in
Thr3e is my favorite book, and I'm an avid reader. Usually I can figure out the endings of books early on, but not in this one. Ted Dekker throws in twists and turns that keep you guessing and then you're stunned at the end. I've read it twice in the space of a month. It's a thrilling suspense that I'd recommend to any one. Christian content is at a level so that long-time Christians can get something out of it, and unsaved readers will be attracted and begin to think about conquering evil.

Black is an addictive take of symbolism and mystery. This sci-fi/fantasy thriller will have keep your intrest until the very last page. You just can't stop with one book. You have to finish them all.
Edge of your seat () by in Ohio
This was the first book by Ted Dekker and I was amazed. I have always liked mysteries with wild twists and was looking for a Christian author who could keep me guessing with every page. This book was wrote to where you think you know what is going to happen but you are never sure until the very end. I was told by the lady at the bookstore that people had either said they loved or hated the book. I can say that I loved it and reccommended it to my mom who also loved it.
