Every Man ( ) by John in Chandler, AZ
I finished reading this book a couple of weeks ago. I've come to the Christian world anew just 2 years ago -- from a VERY agnostic world. I'm 41 now, and am just reborn. But, I've carried the huge burden of a large sexual guilt with me over the past 25 years. And I was finally pushed into a good boundary by my wonderful wife 3 years ago -- from having to choose between no wife, no family, no God, no life -- to choosing ALL of that WITH Jesus Christ. It's been an amazing recovery and I finally feel like I'm forgiven and helping now to get other men on the same road. This book gave me a huge help in many areas, right now I'm teaching men how to get away from the sexual triggers. Fred has many great tips that he used, and I'm using them for others too. But mostly, the book made me feel that my life was for God - and THAT is the main reason there is this need for sexual morality in my and all others lives. I thank Fred for his wisdom he and his co-author give out. I'm now reading a second book of his on helping my 12-year-old son get through this time with choices -- not forced into a corner with no input from his Father above, or his father below -- as I had. I would encourage anyone, even single moms, to get this book. It is very deep, but in a simple way that very few men can express. Thanks, Fred!

This book is insanely legalistic, illogical... just down right garbage. The authors claim the film Forrest Gump to be pornography.
It states, "...When Forrest finally got the girl in the sex scene, she conceived a child out of wedlock. These aren't the types of things I want my kids to see!" Do the authors talk to people other then themselves? Things like this happen in real life, what about when they are in High School and their friends start having kids or God Forbid even they have one! They are the kings of the sheltered life.
Then the authors say that woman's bra ads are, "the pornography of ad inserts..." Women can't look for bras anymore, because he can't resist the lust of it all. By these standards, the "Song of Songs," would be inappropriate.
Theologically I disagree as well. He says because of Porn alone, he was, "an empty suit. I came to church desperately needing ministry and forgiveness." All because of Porn, the man has no other sin in him? I thought ministry and forgiveness is why we went to church every week! He states he had no faith and could not worship because of his guilt.
His problem is he thinks he can be sinless. He acts that if he wasn't lustful, he would be perfect in the eyes of God. Although, in this life we retain the sinner and the saint, remember Paul in Romans!
Please look for a bible based advice guide for fighting lust, not this utter garbage.
We should strive to please God at all times, but Christ died for those times you fall short, and you will fall short. Be confident that you can come before God as an heir through the suffering of Jesus Christ, not your own self-piety.
Out for a buck ( ) by Anonymous in Texas
I bought this book becuse my life and my marriage were a mess because of pornography. I needed help. I called the hotline they list. I was told that if I really cared about my marriage, I would spend the money to fly to another state for a week to go to one of their conferences. I told the guy on the phone that I did not think it would be a good idea for me to be away from my wife for a week, as I was still trying to kick my habit. I was then told that I must not really want help and I should go anyway. I also visited the website looking for help. My only option there was to PAY to join a board where I could post messages and visit with other men who were in the same boat, but there was no actual help from the writer of the book or any sort of moderator. Sounds to me like no one here wants to help you, they just want to make a quick buck, even if it sabatoges your recovery!
A Totally New Perspective ( ) by Phil in Indiana
I cannot begin to tell you how much this book has helped me in my battle against impurity. It has given me a totally new perspective on personal holiness in the area of sexuality. Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker do a great job of using personal experiences to help sympathize with the reader, and include a numbet of fantastic Scritpture references for battling this issue. I would recommend this book to everyout there.

Good Book ( ) by Dan in ON, Canada
To think of how many young men like myself have fallen for lust. This book has been an eye-opener in saying, "Dude, youre doing something wrong. Repent to the Lord right now. Ask His forgiveness." Thank you Fred and Steve (and Mike) for sacrificing time in sharing your hearts desire in having a world of young adults serving the Lord with purity. How treasurable. God bless yall.
