Better than debut CD!! ( ) by Jonathan Mercier in Cornwall
Coming off the heels of a stellar debut release, Kutless releases its sophomore disc Sea of Faces. Produced by Aaron Sprinkle, Sea of Faces is the type of disc to make a band's career. The discs rockers, like "Not What You See" and "Treason," are studio spit-shined. Sprinkles production touches throughout give the opus the legs to stride to the next level. While the bandmembers seem completely at ease with the heavier cuts, they really shine on the mid-tempo and slow tunes. The title track utilizes piano and acoustic guitars to deliver a poignant cut with lyrics to match. "Perspectives" again finds the band cutting back during the verse while the chorus pinnacles into a rock nugget. When the band utilizes both electric and acoustic guitars, the songs really seem to come to life. Check out the sincerity on "All the Words" or the introspection on "It's Like Me." Sea of Faces is a rock masterpiece. Kutless has completely delivered the goods while retaining the charm possessed on its debut disc. This opus is well-written, well-presented, and musically rich throughout.
Highlights: Sea Of Faces, Not What You See, Treason, It's Like Me
I Agree ( ) by Michael in Cincinnati
I loved the Kutless debut CD and was getting tired of people complaining that the band sounded too much like Creed (not that that's a bad thing) and absolutely loved the lyrics. So, when I heard "Treason", I was amazed at how much they had improved. Hard rock. Edgy vocals. Same awesome lyrics. Aaron Sprinkle did an awesome job producing this CD, and it shows. Tracks like "Treason" and "Not What You See" are nice hard rock tunes. If you liked the debut CD, get this one. If you didn't like the debut CD, get this one anyway.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! MORE THAN 5 STARS! ( ) by in Boonville, IN
Kutless bursts onto the scene with this self-titled effort..... and man do they ever burst onto the scene!
If you're even remotely a fan of Christian rock, you will absolutely adore this CD! This is one of those special CD's that you can just put in the player and sit back and enjoy every one of the 12 songs. You can tell a lot of work was put into this album, and it really shines.
With the chart-topping hits: Run, Your Touch and Tonight, they bring songs that have been loved by many. But besides these wonderful songs, every one of the others is wonderful hard rock music with an exceptional message. They talk about subjects such as dealing with ridicule in following Christ, fighting to quit sinning, the needlessness of pride, the awesome love of Jesus Christ and our need for Him, and so so so much more.
There is also several songs of praise and worship on the album, and the heavy song "Tonight" is exciting praise and worship at it's best.
Musically, the guitars, drums and awesome voice of Jon Micah Sumrall makes this stand alone in rock music. But the message they spread with it makes them an EXCEPTIONAL band at the top of Christian rock today!
Check this CD out!
KUTLESS JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER! ( ) by in Boonville, IN
They're sophomore release somehow even manages to better their first CD which was absolutely amazing, in of itself!
"Sea of Faces" keeps Kutless's same amazing, faith-based lyrics and combines them with even better guitar riffs and pacing than we've seen from them before. Jon Micah's vocals continue to soar and the message they spread through their music gets even better with this release. They talk about subjects like following Christ so closely that we want to be slaves for Him, the meaning of our live in Christ, the need for Christ, the need for seeing from different perspectives, and the need for spreading the word of God to others.
There is a lot of heavy, fast songs on the album, but they also know how to slow it down and play beautiful worship music to our Lord. They do this so well in "All The Words."
One cannot even describe hearing "Passion." This amazingly powerful song uses the power of the electric guitar to impact the listener with a visual painting of a description of the Passion of Jesus Christ and his sacrificial death to save each and every one of us. I have never cried so much or ever been moved more by any song I've ever heard.
Other wonderful highlights are: Not What You See, Sea of Faces, Let You In, Perspectives, Treason, and It's Like Me. But don't get me wrong, every song on this album is awesome - just these are the ones that stick out in my mind.
Check this CD out! It is one of the best out there in Christian rock!

This album is full of songs that will have you wanting to rewind the cd and play them again many times over. Sea of Faces is a very good title track and almost every song on the cd is great.
Amazing CD ( ) by Anonymous in Dallas, OR
This CD moved me a lot. Songs like Passion, Sea of Faces, and Treason show that God's love for us is greater that anything. That God is always there even when we pull away. It's Like Me shows the importance of leading others to Christ and to not be afraid.
Get this CD and you won't regrett it.
Kutless Rocks ( ) by Sam in Texas
When Kutless first became a band and I heard them in concert I thought they stunk, but after hearing this CD I've totally changed my mind. You've gotta love "All Alone" and "Sea of Faces". The lyrics to "All Alone" are sweet. I would strongly encourage you to buy this CD.
